Ruth Lawrence Lissy, age 94, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 28, 2019, at her home in Carol Stream, IL. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred E. Lissy, and her siblings, Harry Lawrence, Minnie Syljebeck, Arthur Lawrence, Edwin Lawrence, and Edith Lawrence. She is survived by Alfred's son, David Lissy, of Centennial, CO, sister-in-law Dolores Lawrence, and her fourteen nieces and nephews. Ruth was born to Magnus and Anna (Anderson) Lawrence on November 26, 1924, in Chicago, IL.

Ruth was gifted with a beautiful alto singing voice, which she faithfully used to sing hymns of praise to the Lord with the King's Karolers on the Songs in the Night radio program for 35 years, and in the choir at Wheaton Bible Church, where she was a longtime member. Ruth loved singing, gardening, needlework, and baking. She was the family historian and enjoyed researching her Swedish heritage. In later years she would speak often about Heaven, her eternal home. As her health declined in recent years, Ruth was comforted by her loving family and friends.

Ruth's life verse was "You will make known to me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; in your right hand there are pleasures forever." Psalm 16:11

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church , 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Pastor John White officiating. A private interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
