Ruth Evelyn Johnson-Faircloth, age 71, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream and formerly of Wheaton, died Saturday, July 8 at the Central Du Page Hospital. She was born December 10, 1934 in Chicago to Dr. Torrey and Evelyn Johnson.

Ruth was a graduate of Wheaton College (1956) and retired from School District 93 in Carol Stream after teaching for 35 years (the first 5 years at Hawthorne School in Wheaton). For more than 20 years she served at Windsor Park Manor in various capacities where she was well known and loved by the community. She attended Wheaton Evangelical Free Church and more recently was a member of Christ Church in Glen Ellyn.

She is survived by her husband Sam and his seven daughters and their families, one son, Stephen W. Johnson of Chicago, one brother, Torrey Jr. (Susan) Johnson of Mt. Bethel, PA, and one sister, Arleen (Keith) Yoder of Wheaton. She is the niece of Clifford (Elinor) and Eugene (Florence) Johnson, and Coreen (the late Dr. Robert A.) Cook and the late Marshall Johnson, Lillian Berntson and Arling Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11 from 4 until 9 p.m at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held at Windsor Park Manor, North Ave. west of Gary Ave. in Carol Stream on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Don Jones officiating.

A private interment will be held at Wheaton Cemetery.
