Obituary

Ruth E. Hall, age 80, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Lombard and Lake Thunderbird, died Friday, July 15, 2011, at home in Wheaton, Illinois. She was born October 5, 1930 in Chicago to Paul and Dagmar Henrikson.

She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Hinsdale High School. On November 26, 1949 she married James Hall. They lived in Lombard for over 30 years, where she was a member of Lombard Bible Church. In retirement they moved to Lake Thunderbird, Illinois. She was active with the Christian Women's Club, the Red Hat Society and with the Putnam County Senior Center and she helped found the Lake Thunderbird Ladies' Friendship Club. She also attended the Willow Springs Mennonite Church. Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed nature. She loved the western and Native American cultures. Many benefitted from her generosity.

She is survived by her husband, James, eight children, Jonathan (Marlene), Timothy, Ruth (Al) Hurrell, Judith (Robert) Slattery, Susanna (Gary) Steilen, Daniel (Gerry), Miriam and Jeremiah Hall, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Carl, Edwin, David and Eric Henrikson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth McClain, her parents, one brother and one sister.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
