Ruth Fliehler, nee Tolliver, age 78, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Central Du Page Hospital. She was born on October 12, 1929 in Springfield, IL.
She met Kenneth Fliehler in Wheaton and they were married on February 13, 1954 at Wheaton Bible Church. She was an active member of Wheaton Bible Church, where she worked in Children's Ministries, served as a deaconess, and was a member of the Vanguard group.
She worked for VanKampen Press and Sword of the Lord until her sons were born. Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and mother. Later she worked for Scripture Press from her home.
Ruth enjoyed knitting, cooking, interior decorating and entertaining.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Karl (Diane) Fliehler of Wheaton and Kendall (Nancy) Fliehler of Oak Park, three grandchildren, Becky, Jenny (Matt) Adams and Daniel, and her twin sister, Martha (Dave) Hurst of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth, and her sister, June Schultz.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Windsor Park Manor, 120 Windsor Park Dr. at North Ave., (just west of Gary Ave.) in Carol Stream.
A private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens in Oakbrook Terrace.
