Obituary
Ruth Linnea Anderson nee Akerstrom, age 95, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, and formerly a longtime resident of Skokie, died Thursday, August 18, at the Johnson Medical Facility.
She was born in Skane, Sweden on June 24, 1910. She came to America in 1929. In 1937 she married Knuth Gunnar Anderson. They were members of First Evangelical Covenant Church and Edgebrook Evangelical Covenant Church. She worked for Powers Regulator Company for 14 years and retired in 1967.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Susan (Ken) Rodeck of Fontana, WI, and Bee (Paul) Piro of Wheaton, five grandchildren, Kimberlee Rodeck, Shawn (Sandy) Rodeck, Jonathan (Annie) Piro, Julie (Philip) Sassano and David Piro, four great-grandchildren, Luke, Mia, Sophia and Zoe Ruth and two sisters, Tyra Christiansen of Copenhagen, Denmark and Hanna Nilsson of Tollarp, Sweden.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 25 at 11:00 A.M., at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, with visitation prior to the service from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
Memorials may be directed to the Edgebrook Evangelical Covenant Church, 6355 N. Spokane St., Chicago, IL.
