Russell W. Kasten, age 87, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born April 13, 1930 in Chicago, IL.

Russ served in the Navy before embarking on a long sales career. He was a former Knights of Columbus member. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, golfing, and was a model train enthusiast. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger years he loved to travel with Marlene and the family, spending time with friends and extended family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene; five children, Annise Hawkinson of Glen Ellyn, IL, William (Karla) of Michigan, Robert of Boston, MA, Marybeth of Crystal Lake, IL, and Barbara (George) Valentin of Wheaton, IL; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Donald Hawkinson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the start of a funeral Mass to be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., in Wheaton, IL. Private Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
