Obituary

Services for Roy Perry, age 42 of Glen Ellyn, will be held on Tuesday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton, where friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 3 from 5 to 9 p.m.

He was born on February 28, 1968 in Blue Island, IL to James and Cora Perry, the seventh of nine children. He grew up in Chicago Heights, Beacon Hill neighborhood, and graduated from Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields. In high school he was three sport athlete (baseball, basketball and track) and was awarded a scholarship to the Chicago Art Institute for his art. He majored in Fine Art at Elmhurst College. After graduation he went on to pursue his passion of herpetology and worked in exotic pet supply and distribution. On February 19, 1994 he married Caroline Horne, who he met in college while on the basketball team.

He loved to fish, cook, and spend time with his children. He loved Jesus. He was always doing nice things for his friends and neighbors and recently he has been caring for his mother-in-law.

Roy is survived by his wife, Caroline, his children, Savannah and Noah, his father, James Wells Perry Jr., 8 siblings, Eugene (Theresa), Minnie, Maple Nance, Robert (Winnie), Linder, Larry (Maria), Elvis (Sylvia), and Tyrone Perry, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora, nephew, Andrez Perry and his grandparents.
