Roy E. McGee Sr., age 83, a longtime resident of Wheaton died in his home Sunday August 14. He was born June 5, 1922 in Rockingham, NC. Mr. McGee worked for the city of Wheaton for many years in the Mechanical Division as an Automotive Supervisor. He was in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Myrtle F. nee Moore, his son Roy (Doris) McGee Jr.; his daughters Kay (Steve) Griffey, Sharon (Randy) Williams and Barbara Vaughn; his sister Minnie Ballard; his 11 grandchildren Roy McGee III, Michael , and Jason McGee; Steve Jr. and Kevin Griffey; Brennan, Brittany, and Brandie Gosnell; Tammy Hott; Misty Mehta; and Jeremy Williams; his 9 great-grandchildren Anthony, Carlita, Marissa and Kiara McGee; Austin, Lila, and Sanjaya Metha; Amber Hott, and Destiny Gosnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry McGee, son in law William "Billy" Vaughn, and six brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will take place at Hultgren Funeral Home 304 N. Main Street Wheaton from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16. Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church 27W 010 Parkway Dr. Winfield, IL Wednesday at 10:00 am with Rev. Fred Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
