Obituary

Ross Emerson McCordic, age 52, of West Chicago, IL, died July 21, 2011, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born April 5, 1959 in Toronto, Canada.

Ross went to both college and then Med school having never attended high school. Raised in Chad, Africa, in a missionary family, he was a highly respected pediatrician who served on the mission field with TEAM. He gave visionary leadership to missionaries in Africa, the Middle-East, and South Asia. Many not only counted him as their leader, but as their brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dawn McCordic; three sons, Joshua, Kyle, and David; his father, Charles (Betsy); three brothers, Charlie (Cindy), Johnny, and Tommy (Heidi); three nephews, Chad, Colin, and Cameron (Alicia); and his niece, Ariel.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary.

A memorial service with the TEAM family will be held July 28th, this Thursday evening at 6: 30 p.m., at Wheaton College, Todd Beamer Student Center. Any friends from Wheaton Bible Church, or Wheaton Academy are welcome to attend.

A memorial service is being planned at First Evangelical Church in Memphis, TN. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 30th from 12-2 p.m. in the Soltau building. The following day the celebration of his life will be at 2:30 p.m. at First Evangelical Church, 735 Ridge Lake Blvd. Memphis TN on Sunday, July 31.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the family for a family educational fund; or to TEAM, PO Box 969, Wheaton, IL 60187, for the ANNOOR Sanatorium.
