RoseMary Happel, age 85, a longtime resident of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, June 18. She was born in Chicago, on August 23, 1922 to Joseph and Margaret Wilder.
RoseMary served in the US Navy in WWII as a pharmacist mate first class. She was the secretary in the guidance department of Wheaton Central High School for 26 years. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church of Winfield. RoseMary was a loving and wonderful Mother to her six children. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was very important to RoseMary and she will be missed by them.
She is survived by six children, Joseph (Mary Ellen), Timothy (Barbara), Mary (Leslie) Dewes, Peter (Martha), Jean (Jeffrey) Reicher, and Joan (Thomas McAdams) Happel; eleven grandchildren, Sarah, Paul, Gretchen, Claire, Brian(Denise) Dewes, Shannon, and David Dewes, Erin, and Megan Reicher, and Lucas, and Molly Valdez; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Sexton and Braeden Dewes; two sisters Joan Goddard and Patricia (Kenneth) Kruse; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 35 years, Louis Frederick, Jr.; brothers, Lawrence and James Wilder; and a sister, Therese Seigler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Family and friends will meet at St. John the Baptist Church, 0S233 Church St., Winfield, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 23. Interment is private.
