Rosemary D. Cleary, age 92, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died March 6, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 2, 1919 in Chicago to Francis and Mary Degnan.

The youngest of six children she attended Mundelein College and Chicago Teachers College, and taught in the Chicago Public School System for twenty years. She married James Cleary on February 6, 1943 and they raised seven children in Hinsdale, IL.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Francis (Diane), Maureen, Patrick, Rosemary (Penny), Stephen (Karen), and Peter (Kathryn), six grandchildren, one great grand-daughter, many loving nieces and nephews and her beloved friend, Irene Lotzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, sons, James and Dennis and her siblings, Catherine Degnan, Francis Degnan, Claire Friese, Helen Moran, and Raymond Degnan.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, where prayers will be held on Friday at 9:30 followed by a mass at St. James the Apostle Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.
