Rosalie Ellen (Utech) Thomas died Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Winfield, IL from complications of lung cancer. She was born in Delavan IL, was a prior resident of Pekin IL, and most currently, resided in Wheaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Thomas, and is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Kelly and Andy Murphy of Shreveport LA, and Sara and Jim Woods of St. Charles, IL. Also surviving are Nancy (Ed) Hanna, sister, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Wally (Mary Ellen) Utech, brother, of Warsaw, MO, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Thomas, of Springfield, IL. Grandchildren are Jimmy, Laura and Joseph Murphy and Jonathan, Michael and Ellen Woods. She is also survived by her favorite care taker and niece, Heidi Grossweiler.
Rosalie attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL. She was a loving mother and grandmother, an avid golfer, excellent bridge player and faithful member of St. John Lutheran in Wheaton, IL.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, at 3:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Main and Franklin St., Wheaton.
