Ronald J. McHugh, age 73, a resident of Winfield, IL, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at home. He was born January 17, 1942 in Chicago, IL.

Ron graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, IL, where he participated on the Diving and Track teams. Later in life he worked as a computer analyst for 33 years at Fiat Allis. He retired in 1999. After retirement he was able to pursue more of his passion of the outdoors, spending much time hunting, fishing, trap shooting and camping. Ron's children were the center of his life and he spent as much time as he could with them. Ron greatly looked forward to Christmas Eve, St. Patrick's Day and Halloween and put a lot of thought and energy into making them special. His great loves also included his fireplace, and his dogs. Other pleasures included playing racquetball and participating in bowling leagues.

He is survived by his three children, Holly Adkins of Burr Ridge, IL, Brad McHugh of Sevierville, TN, and Angie Studenny of Plainfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Etta McHugh; and his brother, Arnold McHugh.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until the start of a memorial service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
