Obituary

Ronald Anthony Kubin, 80, A long-time resident of Wheaton and Carol Stream, Illinois peacefully passed away surrounded by his Family
on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Ron was born on June 3rd, 1943 in Chicago , Illinois to The Late (1960) Charles Louis and The Late (1952) Sophie(Janis) Kubin. Ron was raised by his grandmother Leopoldine and his Uncle Rudy.

Ron will always be married to the love of his life Elizabeth "Betty" Theresa (Moravek) Kubin who were married 61 years ago on 6/30/1962, and met when they were 15 years old while attending LindBloom High School in Chicago and attended their Junior and Senior Proms. In order for Ron to go to prom and marry Elizabeth, he had to respectfully get approval from the Patriarch, her father Michael Moravek; GRAMPS M&M!

Ron is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth and their 5 loving children: Renae (Jeff) Wahrman, Rodney Kubin, Karl (Beth) Kubin, Bret (Susan) Kubin, Brigette Kubin. Ron is also survived by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Teri (Steve) Barwood, Joan Moravek and Ron Jurkschat.

Ron always a loving grandfather to 9 grandchildren: Eric (Remmy) Wahrman, Justin Wahrman, Chirstopher Wahrman, Rachael (Omar) Medina. Allison Wahrman, Ryan Wahrman, Jacob Kubin, Rebecca (Grant) Strode, Melissa Kubin.

Ron is also survived by his siblings: Charles "Pete" Kubin, Elaine (Thompson) and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: Arlene (Fred) Lundgren, Florence (Ken) Crane, Charlotte (Greg) Beeson, Lenore (Frank AKA "Best Man") Fomella, Russell Kubin, Roger (Claudel) Kubin

Ron, the youngest of 9 children, ran to the local neighborhood Candy Stores and Newsstands to get the Chicago Newspapers, baseball cards, candy as well as rookie Mickey Mantle Baseball Cards for his older brothers and Uncle Rudy. Candy for Ron....Racing form for Uncle Rudy. All 9 Rookie Mickey Mantle cards...ended up in the spokes of the bike.

Ron, always a hard worker, started his working career at the age of 9 as a Bowling Alley Pinsetter at JB'S....AKA "Johnny Boots" earning .10 cents per lane, working two lanes at one time, as well as earning tips! He was a Pinsetter for a few years and loved Bowling so much in his late teens he could have been a Professional Bowler.

At 18, Ron started his long and successful career working at the Chicago Board Of Trade (CBOT) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). He started out as a Runner, then Phone Clerk, and worked his way up the company ladder to the Morning Outtrade Manager. Ron took the 5am Metra Train from Wheaton to Chicago for 30 years. Ron's work ethic, never missing a single day of work and his integrity as an honest "real old school guy"  are the reasons why he succeeded and was well loved in the Commodities and Trading Industry. In his later years, Ron was also an Election Judge for over 25 years serving the DuPage County Election Commissions.

Ron also had a love for playing APBA Baseball Board Games with his brothers and uncles. Ron loved playing Horseshoes, he was a Lefty, and would throw ringers "3" all the time; he loved playing Cards especially Hearts and was a phenomenal Dancer as is Elizabeth and they sure could cut a rug to Mack the Knife by Bobby Darin.

"Grampa Ron" was always his 9 grandkids # 1 fan at all their sporting events: football, soccer, baseball games, wrestling, track, gymnastics and cheerleading too!

Dad kept up on current events and all his loved ones even until the very end. He cared more about everybody's health than his own. Ron always made sure his wife "Betty" was doing well by religiously asking her at the end of every night "Did You Take Your Night Pills?"

In Loving Memory,

" DAD, WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK AGAIN" " AS OUR HERO THE GREATEST UNTUTORED MATHEMATICAL MIND WILL FOREVER MAKE US SMILE NOW WITH HIS CREATOR ABOVE ALL NUMBERS" " A MOONLIT PERSONALITY" "DO WHAT YOU LOVE! BOWLING, HORSESHOES, FAMILY, INTEGRITY WORK ETHIC IS NEVER A JOB...DO WHAT YOU LOVE".... AND ALWAYS REMEMBER .."THE SUN WILL RISE ANOTHER DAY AMEN!"

WE LOVE YOU "LIMABEAN!!!!!!"

RENAE, RODNEY, KARL, BRET, BRIGETTE & BETS
