Ronald F. "Big Guy" Desideri, age 83, of Oak Brook, Illinois, entered eternal life on August 30 2017, after a brief illness.

Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 16, 1933 to Louis and Ann Desideri. Not one for limits or boundaries, Ron lived his life to the fullest, in relentless pursuit of his passions, rightfully earning his beloved nickname "Big Guy." He was a successful entrepreneur, avid adventurer and outdoorsman, Veteran, world traveler, and loving family man.

Ron married his sweetheart, Diones Kral, on November 6, 1954 while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Shortly thereafter, Ron and Diones started their family in Berwyn, Illinois, later moving to Forest View, Illinois and settling the family in Oak Brook, Illinois.

After serving his country, Ron learned the electrical trade through apprenticeship and Electrical Engineering night classes in the 1950s, later acquiring MG Electric Company. During a career spanning over 60 years, Ron built MG Electric into a respected and successful electrical contracting company. When not working, Ron enjoyed traveling the world, hunting, fishing, and vacationing with his family. He was a private pilot and truly loved flying his family, friends, and colleagues to many beautiful places throughout the years.

Ron's passion and drive were evident in all he accomplished, never letting anything get in the way of his dreams, especially age. In 83 years, he managed to serve his country, raise a family who adored him, run an accomplished business, and travel the world for new adventures as recently as a few months ago. He is an inspiration to his family and friends.

As he had a vision for himself, he supported and encouraged his family to pursue their goals. We hope to strive for our dreams as strongly as he did. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. While his chair at the table is now empty, our hearts are full of countless cherished memories.

Ron is loved and survived by his soulmate, Diones, and their four children, Denise Schluckebier (Paul), Lawrence Desideri (Deidre), Lisa Desideri (Joe Wargin) and Tom Desideri (Janice). Ron also was very much loved by his four grandchildren, Melissa Hasten (Adam), Nicholas Desideri, Sarah Schluckebier, and Anna Schluckebier. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Desideri, and sisters, June Bily, Dolores Desideri and Sharon Desideri (Brad). Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ann Desideri, and beloved brother, Leonard Desideri (Patricia).

The family pets will miss circling his chair at dinner time as well!

Visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home at 304 N. Main Street in Wheaton on Tuesday, September 5th from 3:00pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Visitation Church on 851 S. York Rd in Elmhurst on Wednesday, September 6th at 11:00am.
