Obituary

Ronald M. Corkum, age 87, a resident of Wheaton and formerly of Aurora, IL died Wednesday, November 15, at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton. He was born June 4, 1919 in Scots Bay, Nova Scotia.

Mr. Corkum was a graduate of West Aurora High School and a four year veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of College Church in Wheaton and formerly a fifty year member of Clain St. Baptist Church of Aurora, IL.

Ronald married his wife, Roberta Watson, in 1947 and together they ran the Watson Music House in Aurora, IL until they sold the business to Lyon and Healy in 1961. He then went to work at Copley Hospital in Aurora in the Radiology Department as a film processor.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Shirley (Richard) Whitecotton of Wheaton; three grand-daughters, Laura (Rick) Wintermute of Glen Ellyn, Jane (John) Leo of Wheaton, and Bethany (Greg) Otto of Camarillo, CA; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Cool of Omaha, NE, and Judith Johnson of Lime Spring, IA; and his sister-in-law, Mary Jean Parker of Springfield, OR.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; his parents, Truman and Ruth Corkum; one sister, Madelin Cain; and one brother, Emerald Corkum.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, from 1:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Private interment will follow at Lily Lake Cemetery in Lily Lake, IL.
