IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rona Marmitt
Croft
July 5, 1955 – June 22, 2025
Rona Marmitt Croft, a resident of Winfield, IL, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 22, 2025 after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born July 5, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Ron and Sue Marmitt, she was 69 years old.
Rona was the definition of warmth and unconditional love. She had a way of making everyone feel like the most important person in the room. Her hugs could mend broken spirits, her words offered peace in the storm, and her presence alone brought comfort and safety. She loved with a tenderness that was fierce, protective, and enduring, and with a love that changed lives.
To her nieces, nephews, and countless others who came to love her as family, Rona was more than an aunt - she was a second mother, a trusted confidant, and a constant source of encouragement.
Rona remembered every birthday, never missed a celebration, and always made others feel seen and special. Her laugh filled every corner of a room, and her smile brightened even the darkest of days. She found joy in adventures with her beloved Courtney-doll, treasured moments with her family and girlfriends, and was always the first to say yes to an outing to support a great-niece or great-nephew.
A proud Cubs fan and a joyful spirit, Rona delighted in life's simple pleasures, a shared meal, a good story, a big laugh, and quality time with the people she loved most. Her presence was a gift, her love a constant. Rona was, and always will be, our greatest example of what it means to love without limits.
She is survived by her former husband, William Croft of Wheaton, brother, Thomas Marmitt of White Bear Lake, MN, sister, Lisa York of Bacliff, TX and brother-in-law, Mark York, brothers-in-law Bob (Mary), John, and Tim Croft, sisters-in-law, Heidi (Jim) Rapp and Mary and Katie Croft, nieces Jillian Lemons (Andy Lemons), Christina Thayer Anderson (Ben Garvin), Katie Balk (Bryan Balk), Taylor Hudson (Cole Hudson), and nephews Charlie Daniels (Amanda Daniels), Alex Marmitt (Lauren Marmitt), and Nick Marmitt. Also survived by her friends who became family at Cooper's, her dearest and lifelong MBA trip girlfriends, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless more friends and family near and far who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Courtney Marie Croft, parents, Ron and Sue Marmitt, brother Scott Marmitt, and former in-laws, Bob and Marie Croft.
