Roger W. Van Dyke, age 76, a resident of Wheaton, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was born June 13, 1938, to William and Grace Van Dyke in Chicago.
Roger graduated from Chicago Christian High School and received a B.S. in Business Administration from DePaul University in Chicago. He began his career in human resources with Jewel Food Stores and eventually transitioned into executive search work. He retired from his own practice in 2005.
He served on the board at Trinity International University, Chicago Tract Society and Evergreen Park Ministries. His faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, where he served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Van Dyke of Wheaton, two children, Jeffrey (Janice) Van Dyke of Wheaton, and Susan (Jonathan) Kaiser of Grayslake, and grandchildren, James and Joel Van Dyke and Austin and Brittany Kaiser.
He is also survived by stepchildren, Susan (John) Paskvan, Catherine (George) Vanderslice and Peter (the late Kristi) Berkes, step grandchildren, Samantha and Jay Paskvan, William Vanderslice and Kyle and Kory Berkes.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL or Hope Presbyterian Church in Wheaton.
