Roger Persons, born on April 18, 1933, went to be with his Lord January 3, 2023. He was born to Gertrude Ann (Haremza) Persons and Charles B. Persons in Superior, WI. He grew up in Superior and, in 1956, he was awarded a degree in business from the University of Wisconsin. He had a long and successful career as a salesman for the Fiberware Company. Roger, and his wife Jean, lived in Wheaton Illinois for over forty years. They enjoyed spending time with their "extended family" at All Souls Anglican Church, where they served as leaders within this congregation. Roger was well known for his big smile and friendly demeanor.
He is survived by his daughter Cyndi Hall and her children Andrew and Brian of Carlsbad, CA. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Alimae Persons of Oswego, IL and her families as follows: Alisa Persons and son Evan Peterson of Tallahassee, FL; Allen Persons (Amy) and children Ashley (Jacob) Matsen and their son Gavin of Colorado Springs, CO and Alex Persons of Santa Monica, CA; Michael Persons (Akemi) and daughter Katrina of Montgomery. In addition, he is survived by three half-brothers: Mark (Paula), Scott (Bozena), and Robert, and one stepbrother Garry. He is predeceased by his wife Jean, son David, his parents, and stepmother June Persons.
A brief graveside service will be held at Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 Warrenville Road, Wheaton IL 60189, on Friday, January 6, 2023, at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the All Souls Anglican Church.
