Roberta J. (Aronson) Gravee, age 81, a resident of Huntley, IL and formerly of Crystal Lake, IL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. She was born on June 27, 1937 in Chicago to Kenneth & Ruth Aronson

Her family moved to Allegan, MI when she was in elementary school where she attended and graduated 8th grade from a one room school house. They then moved back to Chicago where she attended and graduated from Von Steuben High School. She met her late husband, John Roland Gravee, in the youth group at Northwest Baptist Church and they were married on September 3, 1955. They were married for 62 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She came to know the Lord at a young age and her faith remained the center of her life. Always active in church, she used her God given gifts as a youth leader, Vacation Bible School leader and together, she and John always opened their home for Bible Study groups, craft groups, parties and lots and lots of company. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and sewing, crocheting and making her special "Swedish Medicine" (coffee cake) for everyone she knew. Her favorite thing was to spend time at their summer home on Miner Lake in Allegan, MI playing with her grandchildren and enjoying time with family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters: Diane (David) Brown of Lebanon, PA, and Cindy (Ted) Niedbalec of Algonquin, IL. Also seven grandchildren: Sarah (Seth) Barker, David (Susanna) Brown, Rebekah (Lloyd) Hoover, Jonathan Brown, Lucas (Rachel) Niedbalec, Emily (Konrad) Stewart and Derek Niedbalec, and seven great-grandchildren; Tirzah, Isaac, Elliott, Lucy, David, Liam and Hadassah. She was preceded in death by her late husband and her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at The Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake, 575 E. Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
