IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert F.
Wilson
April 17, 1932 – July 10, 2025
Robert F. Wilson, age 93, a long-time resident of Glendale Heights, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 17, 1932, in Eskridge, Kansas, to Ethel and Hughie Wilson.
Robert graduated from high school and answered his country's call by joining the United States Army during the Korean War. He served as a PFC and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his honorable service.
After his military service, he met Marjorie on a blind date in 1969; they wed in 1970 and celebrated 55 wonderful years together.
A devoted father, Robert provided for his family while building a career as a machinist. He worked for Navistar and Sears for 38 years. A man of faith and community, he was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed woodworking and camping. He always valued family time above all else.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marjorie Wilson; his sons Robert E. Wilson and William Wilson (Lillian); his daughter Kim M. Shrigley (Jeffrey); grandchildren Cynthia Jeffers, Alexis Fitch, Connor Shrigley, and Hannah Shrigley; and his great-grandchild Jamie Brooks Fitch. He is also survived by his brother Gene Wilson (Joann) and sister Carol A. Holland (the late Ray).
