Robert E. Wagner's Obituary
Robert E. Wagner, age 91, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died March 8, 2012, in Winfield, IL. He was born March 16, 1920 in Chicago, IL.
Robert proudly served his country in the Army as a part of the 121st Infantry in World War II. He was enlisted for 2 years, and was discharged at the end of the war, receiving a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Myrtle Wagner of Glen Ellyn; two daughters, Barbara (William) Attaway and Sandra Wagner; 2 granddaughters, Clare E. Dixon, and Jane A. (Kyle) Kemper; one great-granddaugher, Ella Jane Kemper; 2 brothers Glenn (Marilynn) Wagner and Jack (Phyllis) Wagner; 1 brother-in-law Robert (Ruth) Gardstrom; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held March 12, 2012 from 9:00am until the time of the service at 10:00am at Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church, 277 Hawthorne Boulevard Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Interment is private. Memorial gifts may be directed to the church. For more information, please call Hultgren Funeral Home at 630-668-0027.
