Obituary

Robert "Bob" W. Schwerin, age 84, a resident of Wheaton, passed away, Friday, September 10, 2021.  He was born January 10, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio as first son to Eugene and Dorothy Schwerin. Older brother to Lynn (William) Shaltunuk (deceased) and Eugene (Barbara) Schwerin of Grand Saline, TX. Graduate of Shaker Heights High School in 1954, and Case Western Reserve University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Proud Army Veteran, to later serve in West Germany as an auditor for the Inspector General of Europe. Bob had a successful 35-year career with Sears Roebuck. After retiring from Sears in 2000 he spent quality time traveling the world and exploring his love of history, food and culture. Subsequent to his retirement from Sears Bob took on a second career as a tax law specialist with the Internal Revenue Service in Cleveland and recently retired in March 2021, after 20 years of dedication to the government. Bob enjoyed time with dear friends and family, playing bridge, active in the church choir, exploring genealogy and history, a special passion for anything related to Ohio State football, a heated conversation over politics and especially a fresh donut or chocolate milkshake.

He is survived by his four loving daughters: Clarissa (Michael) Danna, Julia (Steve) Rodriguez, Patricia (Michael) Almond, and Deanna (Rob) Soligny.  Proud grandfather to seven adoring grandchildren; Macie, Ella, Jaden, Tayven, Michael, Kamryn and Max

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Schwerin, Lynn Shaltunuk (sister) and Madison Almond (granddaughter)

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N Cross St., Wheaton, IL 60187. Following, an additional service in Bob's home town of Fairlawn, Ohio at St Hilary Church 2750 W Market St on Saturday, September 18, at 9:30 a.m..  Burial to be held at Acacia Cemetery in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
