Robert Tokarski, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was born May 12, 1947 in Augsburg, Germany to Szczepan & Waleria Tokarski.
Bob immigrated to America from Germany when he was five years old. The family lived on a farm in North Dakota and then moved to the Chicago area shortly after. Bob served in the US Air Force in South Korea for eight years during the Vietnam War. He worked as an engineer for Translogic, an electronic transmission technology company. He retired from Translogic after over 35 years of service.
Bob was a muscle car enthusiast. He previously owned a Road Runner & Challenger. He loved music, especially Led Zeppelin, The Doors & Tom Petty, and was an avid video-gamer. Bob was a talented handyman & builder who could make anyone laugh. He had a passion for US military history and enjoyed sharing that knowledge & experiences with his family & friends.
He was a devoted father and caring person. He was always willing to help at any moment.
He is survived by his children, Jason (Sandra) Tokarski & Nicole Tokarski; his grandson Ronan Tokarski; his brothers Stan & Joe Tokarski; and numerous other loved ones.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Private interment with military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
