Robert "Bob" Parisek Sr., age 81, a resident of West Chicago for 55 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18. He was born July 20, 1935 in Chicago to Henry and Agnes Parisek.
When he was a child his family moved to Keeneyville, and he attended St. Isadore School and St. Edward's High School in Elgin. He served in the U.S. Army after high school. He married Ruth Bouton on May 11, 1957. They raised two children in West Chicago. He worked as a cement finisher, as a state policeman and worked managing truck sales. He retired from Wayne Township where he was the foreman of the Highway Department.
Bob enjoyed working in the yard and on his home, which he built himself. He loved being with people and was anxious to help his neighbors. He enjoyed travel and road trips. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Bears, and talking about politics. He had a great sense of humor and loved animals. He and Ruth attended Wheaton Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Parisek, two children, Bonnie Parisek of Wheaton, Robert (Jeanne) Parisek Jr. of Buffalo Grove, two grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Parisek, his siblings, Dorothy (Robert) Morton, Joan Pasholk, Jane Harrouff, and Jerome (Ruth) Parisek, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment and military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
