Obituary

Robert "Bob" William Schultz, age 91, a resident of Westbridge at Wyndemere in Wheaton, formerly of Batavia and Villa Park, died Wednesday, February 23, at Westbridge. He was born to Robert Arthur and Ruth Henrietta (Andersen) Schultz on June 1, 1913 in Chicago.

He married Helen Grace Walley on June 30, 1935. Bob spent most of his working career with Hines Lumber Co. working his way up to manager of their largest yard in Evergreen Park. He retired in 1966 to attend Elohim Bible Institute in Castile, NY, where he also taught four classes. He was ordained as a Baptist Minister and joined The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) as a missionary in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He and Helen served at Rubio Christiansen Academy and served churches in Maracaibo and Dabajuro, Venezuela.

Helen was diagnosed with cancer in 1975 necessitating their return to the US. They moved to West Chicago and Bob joined the staff of TEAM as Purchasing-Shipping-Mailroom supervisor and Building Manager. He retired at the age of 71. Helen passed away in 1979 after 44 years of marriage.

In 1982 he married Eleanor Routson, who passed away in 2004 after 22 years of marriage.

He is survived by children, David (Lori) Schultz of St. Charles, Janet (David) Crotts of Raleigh, NC, Margaret (Donald) Joy of Roscoe, IL and Nancy Schowalter of Jeffersonville, IN, step children, Jean (Charles) Erickson, Donald (Cheryl) Routson and Richard (Diane) Routson, 11 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters Ruth (Lou) Ciancio of Villa Park, and Marion (Dr. Walter) Burke of TN.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ralph, Roy and Raymond, one infant grandson and 5 infant great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Visitation will preceded the service from 10 to 11:00. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens in Oakbrook Terrace.
