Obituary

Robert "Paul" Samuel, age 54, a resident of Carol Stream/Wheaton and Geneva, died Saturday, February 27 at the Central Du Page Hospital. He was born in St. Charles on June 28, 1955.

Paul was the owner of Samuel Masonry Inc. for 35 years. He worked throughout the Western Suburbs of Chicago. He was a member of the BAC Local 56. His work was featured in Parade of Homes tours.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed practical jokes. He loved to create extraordinary things out of ordinary items. He enjoyed sports and was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lana, his children, Dawn (Donald) Provo of MI, David Jack of TX, Robert (Katherine) Samuel of CA, Russell (Carina) Samuel of CA, Mary Castro of CA and his granddaughter Brittany (Nick Smith) who was raised as a daughter; 17 grandchildren including Triffany and Bethany, 5 great-grandchildren including his princess Lea, one sister, Ginger (Ron) Peck of MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dana, his parents, Robert and Iva Katherine Samuel, and his brother James.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 2, from 3-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family and friends will be wearing orange in Paul's memory, please feel free to join them.
