Robert K. Rudolph, age 95, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. He was born May 15, 1923 in Lorain, Ohio to Frank Otto and Claire (nee Shafer) Rudolph.
Bob graduated high school in Bay City, Michigan. He entered the Army Air Corps after high school and in 1945 he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Ballamy. He worked for General Motors for 40 years as Personnel Director until his retirement in 1985.
His Christian faith was the central focus of his life and was lived out as he loved and served his family, the church and others.
He is survived by four children, Brian (Nancy) Rudolph, Karen (Larry) Taylor, Kay (Brian) Lassen, and Jim (Tracey) Rudolph; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jake) Garnatz, Elizabeth (Cyrus) Sadigh, Kyle Lassen, Ryan (Lindsay) Taylor, Kara Ruiz, Laura Rudolph, Krista (Peter) Koentopp, Jessica Rudolph, and Joshua Rudolph, 8 great-grandchildren, Makayla, Keller, Hannah, Everleigh, Andrew, Ames, Miriam and Maeve and niece, Lillian Rudolph-Dilks.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis, his granddaughter, Lauren Taylor, his parents and brother, Major James Rudolph.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL. Interment will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
