Robert Kenneth Phelps, 96, formerly of Wheaton, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan, passed away in Front Royal, Virginia on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Robert was born on May 7, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Kenneth Phelps and Vida Giroux Phelps of Mayville, Michigan. He was also preceded in death by his son, Rick Phelps, and his loving wife of 72 years, Rita Ann Phelps.

Surviving Robert are his son, Gregg Phelps (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Rachel Smoot, Alyssa Burk, Kaila Phelps, Christopher White, and Elizabeth Cook; and his great-grandchildren, Jude, Robert, Matt, Emma, Allison, and baby Gatlin on the way. Robert was a very loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a long-time member of St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church in Wheaton Illinois.

A funeral service will take place at a later date at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main St., Front Royal Virginia.
