Robert "Bob" J. Miller, age 84, a resident of Wheaton, IL died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton, IL. He was born August 17, 1927 in Chicago, IL.

After high school he enlisted in the service. His military career included the Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. He served during WWII and Korean War.

While in the Air Force he found he had a passion for flying. Eventually he was able to realize a lifelong dream to own a plane allowing him the freedom of flight. He and his son spent many hours in the air.

His other pastimes were playing football, baseball, bowling and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Steve) Chiquet, of Glendale Heights, IL; and his son Steve Miller, of Northern Wisconsin; his long time sweetheart, Rita Gapinski; 5 grandchildren, Tony, Megan, Nick, Annie, Robbie; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Glendale Heights VFW, 142 E Army Trail Road, Glendale Heights, IL. A private interment was held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
