Robert "Rob" Laschinski, age 67, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. He was born August 28, 1957, in Oelwein, Iowa.

Rob grew up in Carol Stream and went to Glenbard North High School. He had a tremendous and lifelong interest in science and astronomy. He met his wife Anna while working as a supervisor in an electronics business. As a young adult, he started his own business and obtained multiple patents for the electronics industry. He and his wife managed their own business manufacturing a diverse range of electronics products for over 45 years. In his limited spare time, he enjoyed exploring and discovering how the world around him worked, whether it was through being outdoors, traveling, or stargazing. He enjoyed his Saturday morning family gathering at his parents' home. Rob was a kind and helpful person, as he gave good advice when needed to family, friends, and even people he just met. He loved maintaining his prized 1970 Ford Mustang. Most of all, he enjoyed using his ingenuity to spark laughter among those near and dear to him through homemade gifts.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anna Laschinski; his mother Marolyn Laschinski; his siblings Kathryn (the late Bill) Wooten, John (Mariluz) Laschinski, and Jeff (Kelly) Laschinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Robert James Laschinski and his father John "Jack" Laschinski.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL, 60187.
A funeral will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment private, St. Michael's Cemetery, Wheaton, IL.
