Robert M. Koch, age 86, a resident of Wheaton, died December 6, 2020. He was born July 23, 1934 in Chicago to Matthew & Edna Koch.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte; his children Ted (LeAnn), Jeff (Tania), Debbie (Geoff) Webster; his daughter-in-law Marcia; his six grandchildren: Michelle, Melissa, Ashley, James, Julianna & Matthew; his brother Edward (Carol) Koch; and many nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by his son Daniel and his sister Rosemary (the late Wilfred) Klingberg.

As a boy, Bob delighted in being an altar server in the Episcopal Church. Bob trusted Christ as a young man, he was later baptized at First Baptist Church in Villa Park. He enjoyed teaching Christian Service Brigade and fifth grade Sunday School.

Robert had a long rewarding career in mechanical engineering. His creative problem solving, and design skills earned him twelve product patents! Robert used his problem-solving skills at home as well and could often be found on the computer designing a solution to a household challenge or in the workshop constructing a new innovative device. Robert also enjoyed helping his children create crafts, projects, hobbies or assist with car repair. Robert loved his family and always enjoyed having a dog close by!

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 2:00 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185. Interment will held privately at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin, Illinois.
