Robert Stafford Hathaway, age 90, a longtime former resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away in Wheaton, Illinois on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Robert, aka "Mr. Rash," Bob, Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, or just plain old "Staffy," was born in Evanston, Illinois on November 10, 1929, to Arthur Stafford and Florence Mae Hathaway (nee Hubbard).

Robert is a graduate of Northwestern University and Akron University. He worked for B.F. Goodrich and the University of Akron. During the last 50 years, Robert and Jeanne devoted their lives to serving the Lord Jesus Christ. They conducted a letter writing ministry where they would discuss Bible truths with whomever was interested. They faithfully shared their personal faith and wanted everyone to hear the Bible's message of salvation. Robert has written numerous articles and has been writing a book about what he has learned from reading the Bible.

Robert is survived by his wife of 69 years or 831 months, Jeanne; his three daughters in Wheaton: Lynda (B.J.) Slinger; Peggy (David) Hackett; Sandra (Todd) Scheel; his 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Laughlin; Mary (Anthony) Yeboah; Daniel (Marguerite) Slinger; Anna (Troy) Murray; Elizabeth (Eric) Larson; Rebekah Slinger; Stuart (Robyn) Hackett; Arthur (Rachel) Hackett; Sonny Scheel; Nathan Scheel; Andrew Scheel; 21 great-grandchildren; and his youngest sister, Marguerite (Robert) Westin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Florence Cowles and Adelaide Smith.

A private burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Chicago. Memorial gifts may be directed to Pleasant Hill Community Church.
