Robert M. Hall, age 87, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, and formerly of Naperville, died peacefully July 5. He was born July 25, 1924 in Chicago to Robert and Dorothy Hall.
He grew up in Chicago where he graduated from Kelvin Park High School. During WWII he joined the Army and served oversees. Upon returning to Chicago he met Elaine Highfield at Northside Gospel Center, where they both went to church. They were married on May 23, 1947. Throughout his career Bob worked in the insurance industry as an adjuster. He retired as president and owner of L.J. Shaw. He served as President of National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (NAIIA) and the Chicago Adjusters Association.
He was an active member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church where he served in many ways including: Elder, AWANA leader, and song leader. He loved to ride his bike and be with his grandchildren. He enjoyed sports and was a Cub's fan.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Hall, 4 children, Bill (Lynn) Hall of Wayland, MI, Linda Hall of Indiana, PA, Ken (Lynne) Hall of Redmond, WA, and Karin (Dave) Rogers of Aurora, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Wolf, Ben Hall, Skip Hall, Bill Hall, Betty Charleston, and Danny Hall and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Chuck Hall and Dorothy Hall and his parents.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 9 to 10 am. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
