Obituary

Robert E. Guild, age 91, a resident of St. Charles, IL and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, died Monday, May 9, at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles, IL. He was born November 19, 1919 in Geneva, IL.

Bob was the Captain of the varsity football team at Wheaton High School that won the championship in 1937. He served in the Air Force during World War II. After the war he worked for Durable Construction Company, the largest home builder in Wheaton at the time, and built and sold over 800 homes. He was the owner and operator of the Guild Realty Co. in Wheaton, IL. At the time of his death he was the oldest living member of the American Legion Post #76.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol (Reiman) and granddaughter, Ana Lynn Almada, and his siblings, Donald, Arthur, Marion, Lucille Nelson and Eleanor.

Survived by his beloved sister, Dorothy, his daughters, Lynn, Dede, Merry, Cheryl, and Kim, his grandchildren, Cheri Loncar, Terri Nutting, Jorge and Natalia Almada, Naomi Schoenfeld Green, and Joseph and Kaleigh Jones, and his great grandchildren, Alex, Brandon, Jacob, Taylor, and Andre' Loncar, Natia, Tyler, and Carter Nutting, Antoine and Olivier Almada, and twins, Chloe and Eloise Green.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
