Robert O. Duncan, age 91, a resident of Glen Ellyn since 1974, died Sunday, December 14, at Wynscape Healthcare Center in Wheaton. He was born on November 26, 1917 in Coalwood, Montana.
He graduated from Mile City High School in Mile City, Montana at the age of 16. He moved to Wheaton in 1937. From 1942 until 1945 he serviced in the US Navy in the South Pacific. On September 8, 1945 he married Margaret Anderson. Mr. Duncan worked for West Bend Company as a Sales Manager from 1958 until 1984.
He was a member of College Church in Wheaton and attended Wheaton Bible Church. He served on the board of Open Air Campaigners and was active with CBMC. Over the years he gave away hundreds of copies of the Scriptures. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, seven children, Susan Datema of Potomac Falls,VA, Bonnie (Jeff) Barnes of Paris, France, Patricia (Dale) Maczka of Worthington, OH, Robert (Kathy) Duncan of Wheaton, Michael (Sandy) Duncan of Long Grove, Rebecca (Ray) Peterman of Glen Ellyn, and Tim (Cheryl) Duncan of Wheaton, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Howard (Lena) Duncan of Wheaton and two sisters, Olive Koopmans and Beth Volkman both of CA.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Robin Maczka, his parents, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial services will be on Thursday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. at College Church in Wheaton, Seminary & Washington Sts., Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 10 until 11 a.m
