Robert J. Cline, age 86, a former resident of Westchester and Grayslake, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2019, at home. He was born October 3, 1932 in Chicago to Harold and Caroline Cline, the youngest of nine children.

Bob grew up on the north side of Chicago in the St. Alphonsus Parish neighborhood. He attended Lane Technical High School. From 1950 until 1959 he served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He married Esther Benning on June 12, 1955 and the lived on the north side until moving to Cicero in 1967.

In 1995 he retired from ABF Trucking, having worked in transportation his entire career. He enjoyed spending winters at his home in Stuart, Florida. He enjoyed dancing at Dover Straits in Mundelein, IL. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

He was very sociable and enjoyed being with friends and family and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, Robert Cline of Woodstock and Dr. Sharon (Robert Tatro) Cline of Wheaton, two grandchildren, Kelly Cline of Michigan and Christopher Tatro of Wheaton and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther in 1996, his parents and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A funeral service will be held July 15, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
