Robert D. Caswell, age 85, a resident of Wheaton, passed away March 2, 2021. He was born July 7, 1935 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Gilbert and Mary Caswell.
After spending his early years of childhood in the Midwest, Bob's family relocated to Fresno, California. Being a proud Bulldog, Bob graduated from Fresno State University with a B.S. in Agriculture. Bob was a proud American who served in the Marine Corps. Bob had a successful career with International Harvester which lasted for 35 years. He enjoyed his retirement in Savannah, Georgia. Using his agricultural background, Bob spent many volunteer hours at Bethesda Academy. Later, he and Anita relocated to Wheaton, Illinois to be closer to family. Bob continued his volunteering by helping the Interfaith Food Pantry. When not volunteering, Bob had a passion for golf, enjoyed reading, and socializing with friends. Bob was a faithful and devoted family man, friend and colleague. He was a true instrument of God.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Anita; his children Barbara (Kenneth) Kosowski, Tom (Stacey) & John (Laura) Caswell; his grandchildren Helen & Mary Kosowski and Megan & Lily Ann Caswell. Also survived by his sister-in-laws Carol Caswell & Barbara Marsella; and brother-in-law Philip (Sharon) Erro.
He was preceded in death by his brother Tom Caswell and his brother-in-law Gary Marsella.
A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton. Relatives and friends are invited to watch a livestream of the service on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through this link: https://youtu.be/370CBn14a2s .
