Robert C. Bottger, age 91, a resident of Wheaton, IL, and formerly of Boscobel, WI, and Franklin Park, IL, died Saturday, March 25, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born September 25, 1914 in Lindenhurst, NY.
Mr. Bottger was a sail maker for 50 years. He was in the 1944 Star Class World Champions Yachting Race in Chicago. He worked for Land's End as a Plant Manager. He was also a City Councilman and on the Water Committee in Boscobel, WI. He was an avid golfer, and a tennis player. He served with the National Guard.
He is survived by his two children, Neil of Alamogordo, NM, and David (Marilyn) of West Chicago, IL; his brothers, Lawrence (Martha) of Seminole, FL, and George (Violet) of Johnstown, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorothea; and his parents, Christian and Helen.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, from 10:00 until the time of a service at 11:00 A.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery, in Chicago.
