Robert "Bob" Otto Bartz, age 71, a resident of Hanover Park, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.  He was born September 8, 1953 in Lawrence, Kansas.

Some might call him a stubborn man—and sure maybe he was (but who isn't)—but he was so much more than that. So so much more. Bob was the kind of man to buy you a gift on any day of the week, the kind of man to go for treats and sweets. He would give you a card with nice messages for your birthday. It's weird to see someone leave, because to be honest, there will always be a hole in your life that they had once filled.The memories he made, even the little ones like dancing along to music playing, or making weird faces. It won't be the same without him, it never will. He would always say "none of that suit and tie stuff". Bob was a simple man and his wish was to be cremated in a pair of jeans, and if that doesn't sum up the type of person he was, then I don't know what would.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine; his children: Joshua, Benjamin, and Lindsey; his grandchildren: Emma, Charlotte, Beau, and Scarlett; and his sister Cheryl Kennard. He was preceded in death by his parents Melford and Mary Bartz.
