Robert D. Astleford, age 76, a resident of Wheaton, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 after a long illness.  He was born October 4, 1947 in San Diego, California to Dale Clifford & Miriam Astleford.

He grew up in California. He went to the University of Arizona for a physics degree, University of New Mexico for nuclear engineering and UC Berkeley for mechanical engineering degree.

He moved to Chicago after accepting a job with Sargent and Lundy. He worked there for many years and then with Fauski and Associates.

He enjoyed archery, ballroom dancing, seeing the National Parks and a good bottle of wine.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pat; his sisters & brothers-in law: Barbara Bartel, Rick (Sophie) Bartel, Carol (Keith) Gambrel, John Bartel & Tom (Kathryn) Bartel; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother & father-in-law.

Services will be held privately at Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Plano, Texas.
