Richard R. Verlare's Obituary
Richard R. Verlare, age 75, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at home. He was born June 9, 1934 in Sheboygan, WI.
Richard was a leader in the community. He served on the boards of a number of Christian ministries including Willow Creek Community Church, Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, ECFA, Timothy Christian School. He founded Verlare Cleaners in Elmhurst in the 1970s. He loved spending time with his family and often rode his motorcycle with his wife and sons.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; three children, James (Juli) Verlare of Somonauk, IL, Dave (Sharly) Verlare also of Somonauk, IL, and Kay Lynn (Dave) Folkerts of Glen Ellyn, IL; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Candice, and Lindsey, and Jessica, and Jodi, and Joshua, Shari, and Chad; two sisters, Rhoda, and Ruth; two brothers, Ronald, and Roger.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Prison Fellowship, PO Box 1550, Merrifield, VA 22116-1550; or to Bible League, PO Box 28000, Chicago, IL 60628.
