Obituary

Richard F. J. Sullivan Sr., age 90, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, December 15, at Central Du Page Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York.

Richard was an accomplished violinist. He played as a guest artist for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and concert master during college. He graduated as a chemical engineer from Pratt University. He served in the US Army during WWII. His career was as a chemical sales engineer for National Lead Titanox Division.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Sullivan, four children, Robert (Pamela) Sullivan of MI, James (Gayle) Sullivan of Dixon, IL, Juanita "Stormy" Smith of TX, and Richard (Mary) Sullivan Jr. of St. Charles, IL, step-children, Robin (Glenn) Rinker of Bloomington, IL, Rebecca (Greg) Korbecki of Hoffman Estates, IL, and Rhonda HIll-Kliest of Wheaton, 19 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda, one daughter, Loretta, one son, Thomas and great-grandson, John.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until the service at 4:00. Interment will be privately held at St. Michael Cemetery.
