Richard Elwyn Scott, age 68, a resident of Wheaton, IL, exchanged his earthly address for a heavenly one on February 29, 2016. He died peacefully at home after living with Alzheimer's Disease for over six years.
Rich was born September 5, 1947, in Chicago to Douglas and Sarah "Sue" Scott, the third of six children. His degrees from Wheaton College and Northern Illinois University equipped him for his careers in the business world. His love for God and God's Word was at the core of his life.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, his quirky sense of humor, his way with words, his love and loyalty to family and friends, and his unwavering trust in Jesus. He memorized many passages of Scripture, including the book of James, which he often quoted. "When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives my brothers, don't resent them as intruders, but welcome them as friends." (James 1:2, Phillips)
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Marilyn, son Douglas (Nicole), daughters Sarah and Lesley, as well as his siblings, Douglas W.
