Richard (Dick) John McNulty, age 86, of Northlake, Illinois, passed away on July 10, 2023, at Adventist Hospital in LaGrange, Illinois, due to kidney failure. He was born on July 19, 1936, in Verona, Wisconsin, to his parents, George E. McNulty and Maria S. (Ibenthal) McNulty.

Dick attended Verona High School and graduated in 1955. Shortly after, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1960, where he obtained the rank of Corporal. During his military service, he spent two years stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, and two years at the United States Embassy in Bonn, Germany. After his military service, Richard worked as a butcher in Belvidere, Illinois, for a few years before transitioning to a career in sales and marketing.

Throughout his life, he resided in Wisconsin, Illinois, California, and Arizona. For the last six  years of his life he returned to Chicago, Illinois to be closer to his son and family.

Dick had an Irish sense of humor and loved to laugh and tell stories.  He enjoyed studying his family's genealogy and was proud to be a US Marine. One of the highlights of his retirement was flying to Washington D.C. on the Freedom Flight for U.S. Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother George McNulty. He is survived by his son Paul McNulty, daughter-in-law Kathleen (Bolduc) McNulty, and two granddaughters (Kristen and Molly McNulty) of Carol Stream, Illinois.  He is also survived by two nephews, Steven and David McNulty and Elvira McNulty his sister-in-law.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Middleton, Wisconsin, at a later date.
