IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Komorouski
June 10, 1955 – August 12, 2023
Richard Komorouski, a resident of Wheaton, passed away on August 12, 2023, after a brief illness. Rich was born June 10, 1955, to Vernon and Helen Komorouski in St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Augsburg College In 1978 he moved to Glendale Heights to attend Wheaton College as a graduate student studying Theology and Psychology. While enrolled at the College, he worked at the Physical Plant. When he finished his studies, he decided to continue working at the College as an HVAC technician since he excelled at mechanical equipment repair. He continued working at the College until April, 2009 when he suffered a serious injury from a bicycle accident on his way to work.
Rich fully believed that his way of loving and serving the Lord was to serve others. He would often fix appliances and bicycles and other things for folks at the College and always had a listening ear to those in need. He taught his daughters to serve in the same loving way.
He met his wife Marsha at Wheaton College and they married in July 2008. Nine months into their marriage Rich had an accident that left him a quadriplegic. Marsha cared for him at their home for several years before he became a resident of DuPage Care Center. He was much admired for his faith in God as evidenced in the way he accepted his physical limitations with grace. He adapted and was a blessing to the residents and staff on his floor. He was a joy to be around. His attitude in life is a force that didn't call attention to himself, but it will leave a huge void to those who loved and knew him.
Richard leaves his wife Marsha and daughters, Lynn Packard (Ben) and Gwen Belcher (Timothy). He also leaves seven grandchildren: Olivia, Isaac, Thomas, Ethan, Elijah, Tyler and Eisleyl He is also survived by his brother Randy (Teresa) and several nieces and nephews.
