Richard Clark Davoust, Sr. was born in Chicago on October 5, 1928 and died April 27, 2018.
One of four sons, Richard "Dick" was a civil engineer and entrepreneur. He owned a local oil producing company, Quasar, Inc, in Evansville, Indiana and Western Kentucky for many years. His hobby was purchasing troubled businesses and using his innovation and creativity to turn them around. Over the years he was an owner in Mesker Steel Company, Consumer National Life, Flockcoat, Quasar Coal company and many more.
He and his wife Christa were longtime residents of Newburgh, Indiana. They loved to travel and were involved in the community including regular hosting of the Evansville International Club.
He was the proud father of four sons, three daughters and one step-daughter. He enjoyed interacting with his nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crossroads Church, 10800 Lincoln Ave, Newburgh, IN, at 11am on May 26th. Contributions in his honor can be made to the Evansville Philharmonic or to the Humane Society of your choice.
