Richard Philip Clubb, of Aurora, IL, passed away on February 16, 2018 at the age of 65. Rick was a loving husband, father, and brother, as well as a respected fine artist. Rick is survived by his wife, Sheryl (Ryckaert) Clubb; daughter, Eileen (husband, Chris) Gertmann; son, Eric (wife, Cathy) Clubb; brothers, Kenton Clubb and Raymond Clubb; and three grandchildren, Daphne, Ryan, and Andrew.
Rick was born on December 26, 1952 in Des Moines, IA. He grew up in Peoria, IL and attended Richwoods High School, where he was an accomplished distance runner. He served domestically in the Coast Guard Reserves during the Vietnam War. After graduating with a BA in Art from Western Illinois University, Rick became a successful commercial artist in the Chicago area, working as a storyboard artist on many national marketing campaigns. He later established a studio in the Wheaton area and continued to perfect his fine art talents, specializing in portraits, Chicago cityscape watercolors, work horse farming depictions, and various forms of sculpture. He was an enthusiastic fisherman and skilled hunter of pheasants and deer. His passion for art and the outdoors gave him great perseverance to cope with many health issues over the years.
A memorial service will be held at
Hope Presbyterian Church
in Wheaton, IL on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11am.
