Richard Burghardt, a resident of Wheaton, IL, age 87, died on Jan. 21, 2013 after a 3 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was born August 6, 1925 in Chicago, IL. Richard, along with his wife Charlotte, owned three local businesses. Flower's by Richard, Hawthorne Paint Pail and Hawthorne Paint Pail & Hardware. Throughout his life Dick enjoyed model railroading, trips out west and later in life took up competitive running. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Jody Hines and Bonnie Patrick, son Jay Burghardt, son-in-law Miles Coric and sister Pat Roberts. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren brought him much happiness. The family is honoring him privately.
