Richard D. Berg, age 89, a resident of Winfield, IL, died August 8, 2019, at Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton, Illinois.  He was born June 4, 1930.

He grew up in Menominee, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He graduated from Stout University in Wisconsin and eventually earned a Master's Degree from the University of Illinois. He married Elaine Anundsen in 1953.

Dick worked as a teacher and school administrator for District 200. He retired after a long career with the district in 1985. He was a member of Gary Methodist Church in Wheaton.  He enjoyed retirement in Cape Coral, Florida where he was an avid boater and golfer. They moved back to Winfield in 2001.

He is survived by his son, Joe (Ellen) of Winfield; daughter-in-law, Melissa Berg, four grandchildren, Ryan (Shawna) Berg, Kristy (Tyler) Hoffman, Caroline Berg, and Kathryn Berg; one great-granddaughter, Everly, one sister, Mary (Roger) Duchow and brother Bob (Bonnie) Berg, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and his son, Mike.
